In the heat of summer, Durham Region boasts plenty of greenery, from rural farms to rolling hills, conservation areas to lush forests. But let’s not forget about the other kind of green, the kind you can only find on the golf course. Pull out your putter this season; Durham is home to some of Ontario’s best golf courses, which will have you counting down to tee time.

“I am deeply concerned, on so many levels, about the impact on Durham Region and Kawartha if the 407 east extension is stopped at Simcoe Street North as is the plan now,”said local business owner Sue Sutcliffe, who started the Facebook group.”It seems to me that everyone in the know fears the ramifications of this staged approach, but if people don't stand up and be counted now it will happen.”

According to the “Durham Region Cultural Mapping Project Final Report”, commissioned by Economic Development and Tourism…
“The creative economy is an economy driven by ideas, innovation, knowledge, collaboration and creativity. It is an economy in which people are paid to think. Creative jobs exist across all sectors including the ‘old economy’ of manufacturing and agriculture/resource attraction.”
