Team Hubba Bubba #WalksForMemories

Alzheimer's Team 2020

Sue and her Mom decided to #walkformemories in 2009 to honour Sue’s Dad.

Team Hubba Bubba, Lloyd, Lydia & Lynn was formed and each year since 2009, family and friends have gathered to #WalkForMemories and honour loved ones, raise money for an Organization that does so much for so many and of course have fun! The Walk is a 2.2km indoor walk through the underground PATH of downtown Toronto, beginning and ending at the Sheraton Centre Hotel. There will be great music and entertainment, and it will bring together over 1,500 individuals who have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia. People dress up, Performers entertain. All age fun! Check out some of our favourite photos here or scroll down to see a few.

Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto is doing great work with the monies raised — like the the Music Project which was created in response to overwhelming evidence showing the beneficial effects of music and stimulation on people living with dementia. This project really helped Sue’s father who received an iPod pre-loaded with songs he loves, a charging accessory, a set of headphones and periodic updates at no cost. They also offer counselling, information, support groups and workshops.
