August 1st is Emancipation Day

Emancipation Day
Emancipation Day

Today I celebrate the end of slavery, and the end of a dark time in our history.

I am saddened to remember the injustices and our dark history, and even sadder to know they continue, even after all this time.

Today I dream of a world that values all lives and lives in peace and love.

Let’s manifest this, together.

If you don’t stand against injustice, you stand with it.
