Joan Ann made significant contributions to the field of astrology and was passionate about helping her clients gain a better understanding of their lives through the use of astrology. She consulted with individuals and organizations, taught astrology classes and workshops, and delivered keynote presentations at colleges, clubs, and businesses. She was also wrote the horoscope column “The Stars Say…” for many local newspapers, and was an active volunteer for the Canadian Association for Astrological Education (CAAE), the Durham Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW), and served as Charter President of the Durham Communications Club.
I first met Joan Ann in 1995 at one of the few business networking groups there was for women then, and she became one of my first website customers – and fast friends. We talked about being a woman in business, life as a caregiver, and astrology – her passion. I helped her with digital marketing and she taught me about the stars. She had a lovely smile and a warm heart, always sponsored me when I raised money for Alzheimer’s Research, and paved the way for me to share the podium with Gary Polonsky, the founder of UOIT, which was such an honour. I know I speak for many when I say she will be missed.
