There are three main types of hosting on the market today; shared hosting, virtual private server and cloud hosting:
Shared hosting is a popular choice for non mission-critical brands because it is least expensive and bundles in technical support. Web owners are given limited access to the server, scaleability is a problem, as is speed and uptime, as all website on the server share resources.
VIRTUAL PRIVATE SERVER
Virtual Private Servers (VPS) are ideal for small to mid-sized businesses and e-commerce websites as they provide increased control, flexibility, increased speed and scaleability. Each VPS has dedicated space and memory, but requires more technical skills to operate and manage.
Cloud hosting is ideal for: web applications, high traffic websites and other mission-critical websites as resources scales in real time to the website’s requirements. The downside is so does the bill and privacy can be a problem due to lack of centralization for data storage.
