By shopping Canadian products and brands, consumers in Canada are exempt from potential tariffs, which means potentially saving money. Plus, there would be the added benefit of supporting Canadian manufacturers who may be impacted by the U.S. import tariffs.

Product of Canada — means at least 98 per cent of the total direct costs of producing the item were incurred in Canada​.
Made in Canada — means it was more than half of the total direct costs — at least 51 per cent but less than 98.
